Up bright and early, and into the car. Our goal today is to get to Calgary, see the zoo, and find our campsite. We have the handy dandy GPS we bought for Grandpa, so this should be easy-peasy.
We decided to stop in Red Deer for breakfast. It concerned me that Lochlyn was setting the tone for the day when she threw up a little bit and was running around the restaurant like a crazy child. Luckily, it was just a fluke, and she didn't throw up anymore that day.
We found the zoo, and a parking spot a million miles away, and away we went. We were praying that the zoo would have a wagon rental left fro us, since we left the second stroller in the car. Thankfully, we got the last one!
FYI, if you are ever going to Calgary Zoo, maybe aim to go on a day that isn't SATURDAY! It was so crowded! We didn't see everything, and seemed to wander around in circles quite often. But, the kids were happy, and really that is the important part.

We used to GPS to help us find our way from the zoo to our campground. We started to doubt our body-less Australian tour guide (we decided she looked like a lingerie model), when she had us driving through side streets and crazy residential areas, but she got us where we were going.
We stayed at Calgary West Campground, and it was a nice little spot! Unfortunately, no fires are permitted, but we knew that and planned our meals accordingly. We raced against the weather to get our tent set up, and it stormed ALL NIGHT long! The thunder and lightning were incredible. I spent most of the night in this strange, semi-concious state.It was like my body was asleep, but my conciousness wasn't, and I listened to the storm pound our tent all night. Thankfully, the kids slept well, and oddly enough I was well rested in the morning.
