Once we were all up and dressed and packed away, we headed to town for breakfast. We were worried we wouldn't find a place to park at the hot springs, but hooray, we did!

We parked the car, loaded up the kids and the backpack and the diaper bag, grabbed the life jackets and the little boat thing, and hiked our way under the highway to get to the hot springs. The kids were free, and it was only a little over $6 each for Chris and I, we were pretty pleased!
What an ordeal to get us all ready and into the pools. There is a hot pool, and a cool pool. We weren't sure how hot the hot one would be, and if the kids would even go in. What a beautiful, breathtaking spot to soak! We plunked Kinner in her little boat, and she bobbed around with the most content look on her face - I thought she might fall asleep!
L and I went over to the cool pool and she played on the slide. We had to go back over to gather Dad and Kinsley, so they could see her on the slide too! After bouncing back and forth between the two for a while, we figured it was time to hit the road. Not before trudging back into the change rooms and wrestling the three of us out of wet suits and into dry clothes. Oops, forgot to bring dry diapers, duh! Guess we'll get those when we meet up with Dad. D'oh, Kinner, please don't spray the aerosol sunscreen into your mouth! Lochlyn, do not climb under the change room walls! Argh!
After two crappy, rainy nights in a tent, we decided "Screw it! Let's rent a cabin". Well, we couldn't find one, but we rented a room at the Peaks Lodge. BY FAR, the cleanest room I have ever stayed in, and what a sweet couple running the place. The restaurant was closed for lack of staff, but they suggested a place across the road called Great White North Bar and Grill. We walked in expecting a menu of typical bar food, but were very pleasantly surprised! The service was wonderful and the food was fabulous! Poor Lochlyn was pretty confused - she was pretty convinced that the moose head on the wall (whose name was Billy Twoskidoos) was, in fact, a camel. And when I showed her the pictures of the camels from the zoo, she insisted they were moose. We'll work on it.
