Kinsley's birthday fell on Friday, July 31. Since the dreaded airshow was that weekend, we decided that maybe it would be best to avoid the crowds and get out of town. Off we went to Uncle Tim's Campsite. It is not the first time we have pitched our tent in Uncle Tim's backyard, and it just made sense, since that is where Grandma, Grandpa, and Bailey were staying.
Earlier that day we whipped up some cupcakes, since Grandma and Grandpa missed out on the cake. Once we got to Uncle Tim's, we decorated them with some coloured icing (each girl picked a colour), and with some Smarties. They turned out quite well!
After the tent was up, the mattresses inflated, the steaks barbecued and eaten, we brought out the cupcakes and sang a rousing version of Happy Birthday, and Happy Fake Birthday since the celebration was for both girls. It was a lovely evening. Finished it off with a nice walk down to the lakeshore. The night, however, not so lovely. More to come.
