Big Sister goes Skating

A couple of weekends ago, we took L, who is two, skating for the first time! Little sister K came too, but at only 5 months old, it didn't carry quite the same impact for her. You might think that 2 is a little too young to go skating, and you might be right. But, it was more about doing somethig as a family and showing her what it was all about.

Naturally, she still can't skate! She managed to walk alright in her skates, until we put her feet on the ice - then she was seemingly scared to bear weight. We didn't expect much more from her, though, so it was ok. Uncle J was working that day, and gave us a chair to take on the ice, for L to push around.

What really happened was that L mostly sat on the chair and we pushed her around. Sometimes, she wanted to push it herself, see video below. It was so funny to see her little foot flapping around! At one point, after watching some young boys zip around, L started to try to get down off of her chair. I asked her "Where are you going?"

"I go play hockey!"
